About Henri Delacroix

I joined the orchestra pit of the grand cabaret on Boulevard de Clichy in 2000, a trained trumpet player with a diploma from the Paris Conservatoire and ten years of experience in variety orchestras. For twenty-four years I played two houses a night, six nights a week. I watched the sets change, the choreography evolve, and the dancers come and go — but the tempo of the machine never slowed. When I retired in 2024, I was still living on rue Caulaincourt, five minutes on foot from the square. These notes are my logbook for visitors who want to understand the mechanics behind the feathers.
